By Peter Philips, creative and image director of Christian Dior Makeup

"Spring makeup is all about fun and playfulness," says Philips of his multicolored eye shadow and brilliant glossy lip. "A splash of color becomes an accessory."

• Create a clean canvas. Use a flat foundation brush to dot small amounts of Dior Diorskin Forever Makeup ($50) on your cheeks, chin, and forehead, then blend with a sponge to even out traces of brushstrokes. "The finish of this foundation is luminous but not metallic," explains Philips. "It's like velvet." After hiding blemishes or dark circles with creamy Dior Diorskin Star Concealer ($36), dust a generous amount of loose powder under the eyes. "This sets the concealer and makes the eyes brighter," he says.

• Mascara first. Curl lashes and apply Diorshow 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer ($29.50) for extra volume, then use the underside of the curved brush of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara ($29.50) to "dress the eye," carefully tinting every single lash, Philips says.

• Color-block, then blend. Using Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Bain de Mer ($63), dust beige on the inner corners and the deeper blue on the outer, working the blue into the lash lines with a small, flat brush. Add the light sea-foam blue to the center of the lids with a soft eye-shadow brush, followed by pops of peach in the creases and inner corners. With a big, soft brush, blend the shades. The colors accentuate the shape of the eyelid by giving it more dimension, says Philips.

• Layer for the perfect pout. To pull off colorful lips and eyes at the same time, keep your lip shade in the same fresh, fruity color palette as the eyes, he says. "I think of this as a spring red, almost raspberry." Outline lips with Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen ($38), a highlighter that both emphasizes lips and acts as a primer. Trace and fill in lips with deep-redDior Contour Lip Liner in Rouge Royal ($30), then apply metallic-red Dior Addict Lipstickin Choc ($35). For a shiny top coat, use sparkly Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Ultra Dior ($30).

• Final touches. It's key to skip blush, insists Philips; it will look too busy next to the statement on the eyes. Use a large, fluffy brush to dust away the excess powder from under your eyes. Touch up with concealer where needed. To keep lip color from accidentally migrating onto your teeth, Philips suggests an old favorite: "Put one finger in your mouth, pout your lips, then pull it out to swipe the excess away. It's a good trick."

By Linda Cantello, international makeup artist for Giorgio Armani

"It's glowy, tight, healthy-looking skin," Cantello says of the summer-goddess complexion she created here. "I think we all aspire to have beautiful skin—there's a subliminal thing that sets you apart and makes you look well kept." To underscore, she adds: "If you give me 10 minutes to do someone's makeup, I'll spend eight of it doing the skin."

GET THE LOOK

• Prime time. Start with Giorgio Armani Armani Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Balm($100), which Cantello considers a new staple. "It's a moisturizer, plus a primer with active ingredients, and it makes your skin glow," she enthuses. Use your fingers to stroke the balm onto your skin; don't rub or press. Apply it over your cheeks, along your T-zone, and on your chin. Looking a little tired? Try one of Cantello's on-set tricks: "I stick soaked, caffeinated tea bags under the eyes for a few minutes—the caffeine depuffs."

• Build your foundation. For the ultimate dewy effect, Cantello uses Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow foundation ($64), which has oils and luminous pigments that help reflect light. Using your fingers, apply the serum-like cover-up on your cheeks, under the eyes, and on the T-zone, then blend outward. The secret is to use as little as you can. "You don't need a mask," she says. "You want to look as natural as possible, even if you have troubled skin." Add Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser Concealer ($42) under your eyes and in the inner corners, and over redness around the nose only if necessary. Should you need to disguise a blemish, use a small makeup brush, such as Giorgio Armani Maestro Concealer Brush ($40), not your fingers, advises Cantello.

Blush and bronze. "You want your cheek color to be sheer and transparent," says Cantello, who suggests Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer in 15 ($62), a radiant rusty-red serum that blends out into a rosy sheen with a hint of bronze. Use your fingers to dab it onto your cheeks and all the way up to your temples for a tawny flush that looks like it really came from the sun.

• Keep eyes and lips subtle. Fill in your eyebrows with Giorgio Armani High Precision Brow Pencil ($30), contour the creases of your eyes with a combination of Giorgio Armani Eye & Brow Maestro in Auburn and Copal ($35 each)—"beige colors brighten the eyes a little bit," she says—and paint your lips with Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in Blush ($38), an opaque petal-pink stain that sets with a sateen finish. "It's soft, pretty, and romantic without being cheesy."

By Eugene Souleiman, global creative director of care and styling for Wella Professionals

"It's strong but sexy and sensual," says Souleiman of his relaxed, flipped pony. "This is for a high-end fashion girl who wants something effortless but that makes a clear style statement."

GET THE LOOK

• Brush, then wash. "The key to this look is freshly washed hair," Souleiman says. But before you start running the water, brush out your hair with a boar-bristle brush, like Mason Pearson's ($120), to "lightly exfoliate the scalp and get rid of knots and tangles." You should always brush your hair before showering, not after, he advises: "When the hair is wet, it becomes weaker and more prone to damage." Souleiman recommends Wella Enrich Volumizing Shampoo ($24.50), followed by a conditioning mask like Wella Enrich Moisturizing Treatment for Fine to Normal Hair ($13.90). Squeeze moisture out of hair before applying the mask, then let it sit for five to 10 minutes before you rinse it out completely.

• Blow-dry easy waves. Using a round brush and Wella EIMI Perfect Setting Blow Dry Lotion Hairspray ($19) is "the best way to create a blowout that looks natural," says Souleiman. Once hair is mostly dry, twist it into a loose, low bun, then use your blow-dryer to heat it up and set a pretty, wavy shape into the strands. "This adds movement to the hair but not volume," he says. Avoid getting a dent by using a U-shaped pin to hold the bun instead of a hair tie.
